Shut up and eat your carrot

There's so much wrong with this story. First, what business is it of the city council what people eat?

The story reads, "The yearlong moratorium is intended to give the city time to attract restaurants that serve healthier food." Yet it neglets to mention that those in this "poor" area won't be able to afford those healthier places.

Not so Cuil

Sure, I am guessing you will read the above play on words a million times. It fits however. I am not Google sycophant but the Cuil search engine did not perform well.

I first did a typical search like I would on Google and did not get the results I wanted. I then got very specific with it and still nothing. Finally I typed in words that I knew were the exact words that would get me my desired search, but still it did not come up. All three ways of searching brought up my content on Google right away. It's nice people are trying to compete, but a product that works as expected when tried, helps.

To be fair, I will try Cuil again, and probably again. Just in case...

Obama the Annointed

I don't have anything to say about this article, it speaks for itself. I simply had to link to it.

Bat Poles in the Oval Office

"There seems to me no question that the Batman film "The Dark Knight," currently breaking every box office record in history, is at some level a paean of praise to the fortitude and moral courage that has been shown by George W. Bush in this time of terror and war."

Are We Finally Going to Be Free of this Hoax?

"The American Physical Society, an organization representing nearly 50,000 physicists, has reversed its stance on climate change and is now proclaiming that many of its members disbelieve in human-induced global warming."

One commenter on this page wrote, "Gore has finally snapped." To be honest...I really think he has.

The linked article is interesting, if not old news. However, the photo which was part of it, was of something I did not recognize. The base looks like the altar of the Hebrew temple and the center like a beehive. I will do some research when I can and find out what it is. I think the story said it was in Egypt so that's a start...

A Blind Eye

"Hundreds of Denver's homeless could be cooling their heels in a movie theater or museum while the Democratic National Convention is in town next month."

Sure, anything so the Democrats don't have to look at the results of their policies...

Hey buddy, can you spare a movie ticket?

Congress Does Something Right

Like it or not, this is how the system is supposed to work. The idea of congress actually doing this makes me somewhat proud of them and certainly proud of the American system of government.

"Just hours after Bush vetoed the legislation, the Senate voted 70-26 to overturn him, following the House of Representatives, which voted 383-41 to override. The bill now becomes law."

Congress overrides Bush's Medicare veto

The Great Divider: Obama

"Muslim- and Arab-Americans represent 4 percent of the vote in Michigan, a battleground in this year's election. Yet Obama, who has held 13 events in the state during the presidential campaign, hasn't visited a mosque or met with Muslim leaders."

Clearly Obama is not the great "uniter" he would have everyone believe he is. To be quite to point he is actually the most divisive political figure in my lifetime.

That actually fits the liberal template very well. Whatever they accuse others of doing wrong is actually what they are doing wrong. Whatever they say they are, they are actually the opposite of.

Thin Skinned Liberals Whine Again

This is satire, and it isn't offensive. It makes a very good point. The so called intellectuals on the left seem not to be intelligent enough to see this.

I think the reason they are upset is becaue it hits a little too close to home...

Not a Free Speech Issue

The constitution only prohibits the government from abridging free speech, it has nothing to do with private individuals or companies doing it. Any complaint about free speech on this issue is based on a lack of understanding of that document.

Something Fishy About CO2

Either they are really behind in Germany or there's something fishy about this article. We've known for decades that CO2 is beneficial for plants. Aquarists who maintain planted tanks pump CO2 into the water to keep the plants alive. If a hobbyist knows this then why is a German scientist just now figuring it out?

The answer: CO2 is good for plants, plants feed people, well fed people are happy and prosperous, liberals are out of a job...

LOST

I just want to make a quick comment on the use of the word "lost" in this article. The dolphins are in water...they aren't lost. Just because they aren't in the ocean, where we think they should be, doesn't mean they can't be in a river. Perhaps that's where they want to be.

Perhaps they are trying to evolve and if we don't let them stay in the river where their next phase of evolution will occur the entire species will be destroyed because they weren't allowed to adapt...

Racism in America Alive in the Black Community

It's pretty obvious where the pockets of racism remain in this country. It seems people don't want to admit that the black community is one of those pockets.

""When I decided to sing my version, what was going on in my head was: 'I want to express how I feel about living in the United States, as a black woman, as a black person,'" said Marie."

What about as an American? We should try that for a change...
