More Hippicryts

"The counterculture Burning Man festival" does not seem to have any patience with counterculture. This is no surprise, those on the left are the most intolerant people in the world. They expect it from everyone else but aren't willing to give it. I simply love the irony of this, however...

We Must Regulate Volcanic Emmissions...

Volcanoes emit massive amounts of greenhouse gases. Perhaps congress would like to regulate them?

Keep track of floating sculpture with Web cam

$2.4 million piece and people are loosing their homes, and their jobs and paying through the nose for gas. This sort of crap makes me scream even louder than usual at the ignorance of government. Next time there isn't a cop when you need one...look up, your tax dollars are floating by.

Global Warming and the Used Car

Used car salesmen try to rush you into buying the lemon before you realize what you're getting into. The same prinicple applies to so called experts in global warming. Hurry up, act now, no time to wait! Then boom, next think you know gas is $4 a gallon...oh man...

But Isn't Obama Going to Change Everything?

"Mr. Obama is running as a reformer who is seeking to reduce the influence of special interests. But like any other politician, he has powerful constituencies that help shape his views."

Yup...change is in the air...from one special interest to another and we all still get the shaft...

More Wool and Hurry

The first part of this story is wonderful because it shows that the British are as smart as ever. Sure their government is full of idiots, but they will tell you that themselves. The people, however, are as keen as always.

The second part of the story is a lament by the global warming hoaxers that they've been unable to pull the wool over everyones' eyes.

I hope America will follow the example of their brothers across the pond! The current energy problems we are facing is a direct result of environmentalism and the hoax surrounding it.

Survey suggests scientific sins are common - Science- msnbc.com

"Thirty-seven percent of cases of suspected misconduct were never reported to the institution involved for investigation, perhaps due to fear of reprisals for turning in a colleague or a desire to protect the flow of research money."

And poof...we have global warming....

OPEC chief appeals for calm over oil | Industry Summits | Reuters

""I ask through you, through Reuters, really we need some calm. We are panicking too much," Badri told the Reuters Global Energy Summit.
"The situation is unbearable as far as we are concerned. I want to say, there is no shortage now and in the future.""

That's not what the green crowd has been telling everyone. They claim oil is unsustainable and the we simply must find alternative sources of fuel. If you were in the business of making money and you thought the source of that livelihood was soon going to vanish, wouldn't you want to make as much money as you could before that happened?

No one should be surprised at gas prices, they are a direct result of environmentalism and Democrat and liberal policies as well as the complete inability of Republicans to have a backbone or conservative to stand up for what they know to be true.

I remember when it was first discussed to drill in ANWR and detractors used the argument that it didn't matter because it would be 14 years before we saw any oil and we needed to act now on alternative fuels. Well, it's 14 years later and we COULD be benefiting from action that was taken back then and we still aren't any closer to an alternative fuel source that is affordable and viable.

OIL WORKS, OIL IS CHEAP, OIL IS TODAY...deal with it or hang on for even higher prices. Your stupid Prius is not going to save the world. Stop acting like it will, stop acting like you are making a difference because you drive one. If you really cared about making this world a better place you would stand aside and let those who need more money to support their families actually have it. Right now they spend it on gas, and because they spend it on gas their children aren't getting what they need. Thanks a lot liberals for harming the children...good job.

Global Cooling

In the below linked article Saku Tsuneta, a scientist is quoted as saying, ""That's a small concern, a very small concern." What is he talking about? The sun is the topic, specifically that it is very inactive. The article never comes right out and says what exactly he's concerned about. "What's the problem with an inactive sun?" is never asked or answered.

We do get a hint, however. In what must have been this reporter's effort at balanced reporting we read,

"In the past, they observed that the sun once went 50 years without producing sunspots. That period, from approximately 1650 to 1700, occurred during the middle of a little ice age on Earth that lasted from as early as the mid-15th century to as late as the mid-19th century."

What they don't say is that many scientists believe it didn't just happen during the middle of the little ice age but was rather the cause of the little ice age.

The New Math Used by Dems on Oil

I really question the logic that says gas prices will lower when we take more money away from oil companies.

Prices are high = oil profit so by making those profits less they will lower prices. So less money + less money somehow = a price cut...

The Most Arrogant Parents in the World

Many people will read this story and talk about how wonderful it is, what a miracle, it must be a special baby. Here's what I get out of it. The story reads (speaking of the parents), "...they decided he deserved another chance at life". What arrogance! He survived the abortion, so he must be a spunky survivor, why let's give him a chance! Such thinking stuns me and is illustrative of our societal decay.

Tiny Island, Tiny World View

The president of Kiribati, in the below linked article, says, "I am not a scientist but what I know is that things are happening we did not experience in the past..." This is also the tack taken by Al Gore and is also why global warming got started in the first place. People with a tiny world view are trying to judge massive, global systems that have spanned the eons.

She Lied

I don't really see this as a Muslim issue. The fact is that she lied and because of that the potential husband did not have all the facts. Marriages are annulled for such reasons all the time. Perhaps a man told his potential bride he had never been married before, but she finds out he was. There are many issues of untruthfulness that can make a difference. In this case, for this man, as with many men, virginity still matters. There are still people who want to be the "only one" and who would not marry someone if they weren't virgins. That's not always a religious issue.

Czech President Klaus has been There!

"Klaus alleged that the global warming was being championed by scientists and other environmentalists whose careers and funding requires selling the public on global warming."

Of course Gore doesn't want to debate his religious beliefs...

Obama resigns from church

He spent 20 years as a member of this church...20 years. I don't believe that he doesn't share the teachings of those pastors. If something is repulsive then it is the natural human tendency to recoil from it. We gag at gross food, we pull our hand back from the flame, and we jump when something unseemly crawls cross the floor. For years something unseemly has stood at the pulpit in Barack Obama's church and he never recoiled until now. The only conclusion I can draw, the only logical one, is that he didn't find what he heard repulsive.

Even now he states, "This is not a decision I come to lightly ... and it is one I make with some sadness..." Clearly his heart was, and is, in the pews of that church and his heart, ear, and mind in the message that was delivered by mouths of terrible racists who hate America and what it stands for.
