Sure, Obama wakes up after 20 years of listening and realized his pastor is outrageous. The pastor is right about one thing...Obama seems to be like every other politician.

It's Time to Show the Tree-huggers We're Boss
We can lay this upon the doorstep of the environmentalists. Because of them, we have not drilled in our own country for oil and have had to rely on the whims of others. Those others do not have our best interests at heart. We have the oil, we can use nuclear plants, but we don't. All because a few have convinced many that it will damage an owl, or a wolf, or a caribou. So what? Who cares about the animals when people will go hungry, loose their jobs, loose their homes.

The Limits of Tolerance
Let's set abuse aside, because we can all agree that is wrong. Imagine there was no abuse, or no evidence of it at least. With that in mind, what do you make of this video?

Forget About It...No Way!
The only reason they want us to stop comparing is because there is no comparison. McCain looks politically anemic next to Reagan.

Study: Single parenting costs billions
I wonder how much this study cost...to tell us what we already know...

Okay...Keep Talking
I like the sounds of this. A very good idea. It should have happened a long time ago though. McCain is not a conservative, but he sounds more like one when he talks about things like this.

An Exercise in Chaos
The states are suing the federal government over something that doesn't exist because justices, not scientists, made a ruling. Science, including NASA, is telling us there isn't any warming. Actually, they are currently telling us there is cooling.

Don't Keep on Truckin'
It's most unfortunate that the word "some" appears in this story and not "most" or "all". Reduced demand and high pressure on the sellers, is the way to reduce oil prices. This is almost impossible to do since the majority of people in America drive. However, truckers make the country run, they are the backbone of America's economic system. If they don't bring goods to market, goods don't get sold.
This is just the kind of pressure that needs to be brought to bear to make congress sit up and take notice. I'm not talking about them regulating fuel prices, but how about drilling for oil, opening refineries, nuclear plants, and reducing the tax burden on a gallon of gasoline?
America is in this situation because of liberal environmental practices and nothing more.

USA 2008: The Not so Great Depression
I think perhaps it sends a mixed message to declare the great depression 2008 right under an ad giving away free computers and electronics. If we are to compare the current economic crisis (yes, it is a crisis) to the Great Depression, we should at least have some historical perspective about it in terms of scope. America is still the most prosperous nation on earth.
Where the real comparison does come in is in the reason for the depression. Consumer debt, unregulated banks that ran amok and in this case high fuel prices. The latter being the cause of reduced spending such as was caused by the dust bowl.
All the cards are in place for a major drop, but it isn't what it was. We can stave off this crisis if we try. It isn't up to the government but rather to individuals. Pay off the consumer debt and save by cutting spending. The American ideal seems to be getting more money, but spending less money on needless things is also a good way to stay strong. If people have a savings, and don't have debt, then when the hit comes, they can take it until things level off, which they always do.
